PYRACANTHA O AGAZZINO

Questo bellissimo arbusto sempreverde è molto usato per formare siepi formali.
Io lo preferisco nella sua forma libera come nella foto: riesce così a regalare grappoli di bacche arancioni molto compatti che perdurano nel grigiore della stagione fredda.
Resiste molto bene all'inquinamento ed ha una grande rusticità ed adattabilità.
Forma siepi impenetrabili anche a causa delle spine presenti sui rami.
Il Pyracantha appartiene alla famiglia delle Rosacee e pertanto i suoi fiori sono ermafroditi. Se avete una pianta che non produce bacche, probabilmente è a causa dell'errata potatura (eccessiva o nel periodo sbagliato) e non, come alcune persone credono, perchè la pianta ha i fiori maschili.
Etimologia: dal greco "pyr" = fuoco e "àkantha" = spina; fiamma spinosa.

C’est un arbuste au feuillage persistant très employé pour former des haies formelles. Je le préfère dans sa forme libre comme dans la photo: il réussit ainsi à produire des grappes de baies oranges très compactes qui persistent pendant tout l’hiver froid et gris. Il résiste très bien à la pollution, il est très rustique et il s’adapte bien à tout endroit. On peut former des haies impénétrables à cause des épines présentes sur les branches. Le Pyracantha appartient à la famille des Rosacées et par conséquent ses fleurs sont ermafrodites. Si vous avez une plante qui ne produit pas de baies, probablement c’est à cause de la taille (excessive ou dans la mauvaise période) et pas, comme quelques personnes croient, parce que la plante a les fleurs masculines. This beautifull evergreen shrub is used in order to form formal hedges. I prefer it in its free style as shown in this photo: thus, it gives orange berried clusters much more compact that last long in the cold season. It withstands very well pollution and has a great rusticity and adaptability. It may form impenetrable hedges also because of thorns on the branches.

Pyracantha belongs to the rosaceans, therefore it has hermaphroditic flowers. If you have a plant that doesn’t berry, probably it is due to wrong pruning (excessive or in the wrong period) and not, as some persons believe, because the plant has only male flowers.
